Default Re: Going rate for Home Depot day laborers?

I live in the Chicago area, and for a point of reference the typical non-union, back of the truck, hanging out in parking lots laborer gets roughly $10 an hour. I am a residential electrician by trade, have been in the construction trades for almost 10 years, and have a pretty good general knowledge of the industry.

now, I dont know much about the Seattle area, but I'd assume that $10 would be more than fair - provided that they were told ahead of time that the work must be good quality - i.e. you wont have to hire a pro to fix what they [censored] up. also, for an exemplary job buy the dudes some brews or pizza or something...it's just the cool thing to do. good luck on your project!!
