Best Poker Book U ever Read:

I have pretty much all the 2+2 books, and about 20 other poker books.

The best strategy poker I ever read, in terms of helping my game (limit holdem) the most is SSH.

Other good strategy books I'd recommend: HOH series, TOP, and Middle Limit Holdem.

My favorite poker mentology books are Inside the Poker Mind, and Improve Your Poker.

My favorite story telling poker book is The Professor, The Banker, and The Suicide King. This is probably my choice for greatest poker themed book.

In aditional to the known classics i would add Phil Gordon's
little green book. He has an interesting point
of view on NLH which includes agresion and mathematical calculations of many things.

Well, I suppose I'll say a few things.

Most Educational: Theory of Poker. It was an eye opener.

Most Fun to Read: SuperSystem. I really liked the way the book read. It was like I was having a conversation with Doyle about the game, unlike the 2+2 textbook style.

Worst Book: Play Poker Like the Pros. It was one of the first books I read, and even back then I knew it was crap. "Phil's Top Ten" strategy for limit hold'em is ridiculous.

Honorable Mention: HOH I and II. I haven't read III yet. The first two could have stood a proofreading to catch minor errors, but other than that, they're both excellent. Especially book two, which introduced several groundbreaking concepts that have already become common in strategy discussion.

Apparently nobody in this thread has read No Limit Hold'em: Theory and Practice.

I know, I know, Super-System this, Super-System that. IMO, the NLHE section is washed up. "Pound your opponents." I only play small stakes NLHE, but this general advice will break you quick. GET NLHETAP!!

I agree. Even Doyle says he doesn't play that way anymore. Times change and players have to change with the times.

I noticed Doyle has written some columns recently that contradicts some of what he preached in SS 2. It doesn't mean he was wrong back then or is a hypocrite now. It just means he understands the importance of adapting to the changes. This is what makes NLHETAP so relevant to me. It goes against the grain of what many experts say, because it is so timely.
