Brady is the best QB in the league. I don't think there's much of an argument. And I'm a Patriots hater.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Even Edge34 noted how terrible Manning's accuracy was early in the game. You are trying way, way too hard here. [/ QUOTE ] Again, no one said Manning was perfect but to heap blame on him with the numbers he put up, and the way he played (esp. late) is shortsighted. Cody [/ QUOTE ] What numbers? The 9/18 for 100 yards in the first half, where the game was largely decided? The two picks that somehow the refs didn't see fit to give Pitt? Or the garbage yards that he got when Pitt was already up by 3 scores? Note how once it got to the "winnable" stage, suddenly he couldn't move the team as efficiently any longer. When it matters most, he evaporates. [/ QUOTE ] The first half was plagued by bad play from every single player in a blue uniform, they came out flat and got pummeled by a good Steelers team. If you want to believe that Manning made no effort to move the team in the last two drives, where they scored and missed the FG, then there is little to talk about. Manning did his best, and at least in those two series moved the team well, against the Steelers Cover 38 no less. If you want to talk about the teams call not to run on the last few plays before the FG attempt, well...good point. Cody |

Manning was terrified of looking like a goat on the drive before Bettis fumbled at the goal line. He was sacked twice in a row and almost got a safety. I've never seen a QB more scared of looking like a goat in my life. A non-pussy QB would have thrown the ball in an attempt to move his team down the field rather than almost get sacked for a safety.
Manning knew he wouldn't be a goat if he didn't throw the ball, but Indy will never win a big game that way either. Brady, as a true leader, would have never taken those sacks. |

Wow, when Manning has an off game, the Colts lose. That is very keen insight there, tell me more.

[/ QUOTE ] Of course Brady would have done it better. Nothing feels quite as good as a totally unprovable argument. But I'll fight fire with fire. A buddy of mine failed a test the other day, now I'm a pretty good test taker and although the situations in no way relate to one another, I would've passed it. Damn that does feel good, I gotta start doing that more often. Seriously though, Clark believes Peyton sucks, I don't. At least we can disuss why we think that and sight stats or plays or stratagies. That kind of "Brady would've done it"/"NE could've won it" stuff is just stupid. Cody |

However, no quarterback can be considered great if he takes two sacks on (what should have been) his team's final drive with a chance to win. And you can't blame Manning's sack on Dungy either. Peyton had essentially taken over coaching at that point in the game, so Manning should have called for a quick out or something that would avoid a sack, rather than almost getting sacked for a safety. |

He's always been on a team where he has to do very good in order for his team to win. So naturally, when he doesn't do awesome, its very difficult for his team to win, simple as that. Did Elway all of a sudden learn how to not choke, or did his team just get better?
