Getting a job has more to do with hard work than intelligence a lot of the time. I know many very intelligent people who are simply lazy. My IQ was tested to be 160+ several years back, and I am a huge procrastinator.

Why not produce some piece of work that only someone exceptionally intelligent could do. That's more likely to impress potential employers. [And no, multi-tabling 8 tourneys doesnt count.]

Employers hate people who are smarter than they are, pretend to be dumb, and act amiably, also show naive enthusiasm, it always works in the movies. Where did this get tested? Every IQ test I run accross reads mine in the high 130s. I know I'm missing one question max on those tests.

Most employers I know wouldn't bother considering it, although I had never heard this before.

Why would it be? IANAL either, but I can't imagine it would be illegal. Companies give intelligence tests to prospective hires all the time.
