Keys to the second half for the Steelers :
Defense - 1)Keep up the pressure on Manning. He's a rhythm thrower and anytime you can disrupt that, it's good. 2)Contain Edge. He can get some yards here and there but don't let him break off any big runs. 3)Keep letting up those little over-the-middle passes and no deep balls. Just have to tackle a little better on those short passes. Offense - 1)I bolded this because it is huge, GET THE RUN GAME GOING! The run game has been horrible so far, and while Ben has played great, you can't expect him to carry you. That's not Steelers football and that's not how you'll win the game. 2)Keep the PA passes going. They've seemed to work great so far and eventually, they'll open up some running lanes. 3)Contain Freeney a little better (easier said than done). There's no chance of double team, Marvel just needs to play a better half. |

[ QUOTE ] Considering Cowher's record when up by 2 scores, this is pretty generous. [/ QUOTE ] arent most teams records pretty good when up by 2 scores? (10+) [/ QUOTE ] Not 99-1-1 good. |

Keys to the second half for the Colts:
Offense: 1) No more mistakes! Nothing kills momentum faster than a stupid holding or *cough* false start penalty. If they're going to get anything going, everyone needs to play on the same page. 2) Short passes. Peyton doesn't need to win the game on his first throw, and they tried going too deep too early. Let Marvin, Reggie, and Brandon make some plays with the ball, its what they do. 3) Control the pace. Run the no-huddle some more. Peyton's a field general. He'll take over given the chance. Defense: 1) Keep pressure up. Hit Big Ben some more, rattle him, make him throw more bad passes. 2) No penalties. More stuff goes to not playing sloppy football. 3) Maybe the biggest - DO NOT GET BEAT DEEP. Keep the plays in front of you. Lots of football left to play. GO COLTS! |

Pittsburgh's done an OUTSTANDING job of taking the crowd out of the game.
I represented w/the black and gold at the Monday Night meeting, and it was the loudest I've ever heard a place at any sporting event. Stillers look disciplined and aren't making any stupid penalties. If they can open the 2nd half with a stop, it could go our way. PS Iggy, what part of the Burgh are you from? Natrona Heights PA myself. |

You ahev it folks, the most useless CBS stat of the game :
Colts haven't comeback from a halftime deficit in the playoffs since Super Bowl V. That stat means a TON for this game. |
