Still Waiting for Godot (obscure French play reference…look it up) [/ QUOTE ] Man, love your post...the above is wrong. 'Waiting for Godot' was written by Samuel Beckett, an Irish playwrite who lived out his twilight years in Paris. I think you should write a book about your journey, and please keep writing here. Good luck. Bingo |

Wow 5 pages and half of it is trolling/flaming? Come on, post the rest of the story. It sounds plausible enough, so why do you care that other people don't believe you?

It sounds plausible enough, so why do you care that other people don't believe you? [/ QUOTE ] So, regarding the whole "lying" issue, lie or not, has anyone read in to this whole "Waiting for Godot" thing? Here's what I found: http://samuel-beckett.net/Waiting_for_Godot_Part1.html And I'm going to finish reading this thread and see if I can find any sort of connection... Alright, wish I read through the rest of this post before posting this...although, I'm going to read the play now. Heh. |

Good luck. [/ QUOTE ] Since when was Waiting for Godot ever obscure, especially among the college-educated? Also, when describing his childhood, Samuel Beckett said "I had little talent for happiness." Sounds a lot like the OP's problem. It seems he's suffering from some form of depression. My suggestion is to look to medical science (not Jesus or Allah or Vishnu or Anansi or any of that) for a solution, as such solutions do exist. And while he's at it, he should stay the hell away from computers and casinos. |

Since when was Waiting for Godot ever obscure, especially among the college-educated? [/ QUOTE ] That's the thing that made me think that something wasn't right here. Waiting for Godot is anything but obscure. |

[ QUOTE ] Still Waiting for Godot (obscure French play reference…look it up) [/ QUOTE ] Man, love your post...the above is wrong. [/ QUOTE ] Here's quote from theatrehistory "The utter simplicity of the play, in the histrionic sense, places it in the classical tradition of French playwriting." |

Still waiting for Godot to finish his goddamn story [/ QUOTE ] Another day leaning against the tree... But seriously, I'm going to hijack this thread. Is it better to wait someone or something to act as a catalyst in your life (Waiting for Godot) or plug away doing the same routine in quiet desperation (Henry David Thoureau) or dare to break away, either winning big or losing big (Teddy Roosevelt)? What sayist you? |
