it ain't me. i am assuming that "ultimate" is ultimate frisbee, and we don't do that. i make my students work for the most part. although i do fire a dart gun around the room, and a blowdart with a 2 inch nail that can travel 60mph+.

the nail bit is awesome. we can calculate how fast it leaves the gun by using some physics BS, plus the kids love anything in which someone could potentially be injured.

the dart gun is just stupid little rubber suction cup things that maybe travel 10 feet. but it is irreverant and i love it.

Bob, I think you are screwed here. I guess you can let your fellow science teachers know how pissed off this makes you.

Tell them you don't appreciate them bending you over and applying the KY. I really think if you mention the act of ass [censored] around them, they may get your point and will be willing to reschedule.

If it fails, I would put zero effort into anything for the department. Just teach and explore other options. Chances are another school in the area is aware of your success with the physics program.

I would avoid going negative, this won't set well with the new guy. He's more likely to assume you a malcontent a-hole than believe you.
I would make a written argument first pointing out that last year was a leave of absence and you were not to lose seniority. Clearly this new schedule leaves no accounting for your seniority.
Next make the argument that you are an excellent teacher. Increase in enrollment, test scores, whatever else you can put together.
Finish with that you're not looking to come back at the top, you are just asking for a more fair distribution of classes.
Worst case, take what they give you and make plans to find something else next year.

Bob,

1- Have you thought about parents of kids? Sometimes their voices speak louder than the kids. I would focus on test scores, college prep stuff. The case should be "PB is better for your kid's future, for the college they get into, etc... than anybody else".

2- I'm the sort of person who is honest to a fault and doesn't really pull punches at work. I wouldn't have a problem going to the Principal and saying "List, TAP knows TWWC isn't the best candidate, I'm not sure why she isn't sharing that with you, but I'd be remiss, for the sake of the students, if I didn't let you know that". Obviously you'll know better than I the result of making that movie.

3- Are you at all concerned that some of this is because of what you choose to do with your time off? Do they know?

I think it's wise to talk to the new guy and explain exactly where you are. Don't [censored] on anybody- but explain what you assumed would happen when you left.
