Is Stupak not coming back this time? He made the first season worse, IMO.

Matusow just limped-reraised with eights preflop and, while Fred Chamanara was considering calling, the Grinder said of Matusow, "He's on a freeroll, so he could have garbage." I wonder what he meant by that? I thought all these guys had to buy in with their own money.

OK, this was an interesting 1st show but it seemed like the players were a little too comfortable with each other and there wasn't very much post flop action. Entertaining but it needs a little kick. I'm sure it was edited to start a bit slow and then build up. Are we even sure that this was from the actual first day of playing?

My 3 biggest complaints: WTF is up with having your mom there and is there anyone who is a bigger poker/TV whore than JTill? 3rd: The players seemed crammed together on the table.

Yeah, Matusow and Little Danny Negreanu having their mommies there was pretty weird. Negreanu actually calls his mother "Mommy", and she brought him his lunch in a plastic bag. Is he in the third grade or what?

That movie has-been Jennifer Tilly was constantly moving into the camera shot, and her goofball Unabomber boyfriend insisted on wearing his hood and glasses the entire time.

I really wasn't very impressed by this show, but part of that may be because I had such high expectations. As Rottersgod pointed out, there wasn't nearly as much post-flop play as last season. Hopefully, it will get better.

What was the deal with those big cloth-covered cameras all around the table? I don't remember them being there last season. They're pretty distracting.

Initially, I thought the personalities and table talk would make for a more entertaining season. About half way through this episode, I realized that I'd rather watch Greenstein and Forrest play post-flop holdem in silence than a yammering Matusow and Unabomber.

And I agree those cameras are ridiculous.

Agreed. The first table while a nice mix of personalities, isn't really going to show the best poker since it was mostly a bunch of "tourney donks".

Yeah, she brought him the big thermos. Pretty funny!

They were draped in black last year.

Well, they should drape 'em in black again, because they were really bothering me last night for some reason. I should check before asking here but... Perhaps last year they had the cameras positioned/pointed such that their sight-lines didn't hit each other, and that's why I never noticed them? They are just so blaringly conspicuous this year.
