[ QUOTE ] What about the fact that compasses don't work because of the island? How is Michael supposed to actually get off the island? Same thing with Desmond; maybe he just went in a huge circle. [/ QUOTE ] Good point. [/ QUOTE ] Ehhh isn't magnetism what [censored] with compasses? Big ole EM just went [censored] up. J |

to everyone that thinks Desmond is dead. He'll be back next year. There was an article online (sorry i can't find the link) that stated he would be regular next season. Plus from the way the season ended its seems like him and his ex are both very important to the story. They're not gonna show his ex on the last scene then kill Desmond and never show her again?

Desmond is obviously alive. Anyone who thinks he is dead is insane.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, just like they wouldnt build up an interesting Libby backstory and kill her off? It is possible, even if he is dead they could continue with his backstory (flashbacks) and her current story. ALSO, for the first time they gave the date of the crash - sep 22 2004, so now we know exactly when this stuff is taking place, which eliminates a lot of theories. |

Yes. Libby's backstory will be told. Atleast that's what I've read about on the abc message boards. Ana's story is over but Libby's will continue and she will only return in flash backs.

btw, it is so brilliant that the show could end the season with a completely new character and plot lines and have it satisfy all the fans.
what an unbelievable finale. |

Ok.
Libby is, at worst, a Hanso patsy. At best, she's independently wealthy and just incredibly ashamed of her forced stay in a mental hospital. The others are, except for the guns the 815 crew has coughed up, nothing more powerful than masters of theatrics. |

[/ QUOTE ] here's how your theory plays out. libby's hired by desmond's girlfriend's dad, widmore, to bump into desmond in the coffee shop. libby offers desmond a free boat which widmore knows desmond will accept in order to race. widmore arranges for the boat to crash on the island (possibly because of the magnetic pull?) later libby comes on the island and infiltrates the group of tailies. last scene penny, desmond's old girlfriend, is woken up being told that a magnetic anomoly has been found. did penny catch wind of dad's plan and she has been scanning the globe for the magnetic area trying to find desmond? bwana |

[/ QUOTE ] What theories depended on the exact date? We already knew it was 2004 and before the Red Sox won the World Series from earlier comments by the writers/creators. |
