Due to my many years of not going to the doctor yet seeming to have avoided any meaningful sickness, I enjoy convincing myself that I've got a mutant healing factor and that I've actually got cancer and any other number of horrible diseases that I'm fighting off.
I also choose to believe that I can stop planes from crashing by the pure force of will. |

A theory from my brother:
Mediocrity is the new standard of excellence. If this phenomenon was quantifiable, it has probably cost the world several trillion dollars in wasted money and decades in wasted time. One from me: Boneless chicken wings come from chickens that have been genetically bred not to have a fully developed bone structure. This was originally identified as a physical defect, and those parts of the chicken were discarded until some marketing genius came up with boneless chicken wings. Now this defect is a desirable trait and is purposefully bred into a segment of the chicken population. Another one from me: All computer office programs (specifically MS-Office) are intentionally designed to undo random changes you make to your documents, spreadsheets, and databases. Example: your boss tells you to change something, you change it, then you turn it in. The boss gets on your ass for not changing what you swore you had changed. The intent is to drive the work force insane by messing with their minds to the point where comupters and robots can take over the world. ScottieK |
