[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I'm not thinking I'll stack him because of the minraise. I'm thinking flop texture is such that a push gets called by a lot of hands. [/ QUOTE ] A push will also make a lot of hands fold that might have called a regular flop 3-bet. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, the power of pushing is fold equity, and we don't want fold equity here. You want hands that are drawing nearly dead to call. I'd 3bet enough to not give odds to the draws, but not too much so that he might call with Ax (if he's bad enough for that, a solid player would fold that of course.) |

So let's say I 3 bet but don't push all in and a spade falls on the turn--what non-flush hands that he has call if I push turn?
The power of pushing = fold-equity is only part of the equation. If you can put villain on a range of 2nd best hands that will call a push, then better to do so when the getting is good, no? |

stack size problem
Raise an amount that will allow your turn lead to be 2/3 - 3/4 pot. |

Plenty of hands will call when a spade comes because they will feel committed to the pot.
