I mentioned earlier in this thread that in game one Sabres forwards have been putting a lot of pressure on Ottawa. Sabres forward lines are very talented and all there lines are very effective, this pressure should continue throughout the playoffs.

Taylor Pyatt. Vanek is a pretty lazy dude and I have no problem with him watching from the press box. Hes a hardcore defensive liability and was the sole reason for the first Spezza goal in Game 1 with his lack of back checking.

If Connolly is out, then he sees the ice again. If not, he will continue to watch. All reports say Connolly is looking ok and could play Wednesday night.

Yep, Pyatt has been good since they put him in for Game 5 vs. Philly. Vanek has looked lost the entire postseason (along with Afinaghenov(sp?) for that matter). Ruff is optimistic about Connolly but who knows coaches always say that; I really hope he's ok; arguably been the best player in the playoffs. The guys on WGR were saying they'd trade the game to have him completely healthy. I like him a lot but I dunno if I'd go that far.

Looks like Connolly won't play and they will play Vanek at center instead.

Vanek at center? I can't see them doing that - Vanek is weak on the backcheck for a winger, I can't imagine him handling center well.

Would they call up Jiri Novotny?

After thinking it over, he may not start at center but he will be in the lineup and they'll move someone else over to center.
