If we win tomorrow convincingly, I see no reason why we can't win it all. Just have to beat either arguably the best team in hockey, or the hottest team in hockey to do it. I'm hoping our young guys gained the road experience they needed in games 3 and 4 to not suck it up again.

I wonder why Triumph hasn't commented on Miller or our defense from game 5... [censored].

Was wondering that myself....hoser.
As for Game 6, I'm not really worried about the metagame implications or confidence issues of playing on the road. They were the best in the league in the reg. season and Game 3 was a fluke of sorts.
It'd be really nice to win the game just for the sake of winning the series, because no Game 7 in hockey is ever a gimme. Until the 2nd goal in this last game you could almost sense the nervousness from the fans in the building like everyone was waiting for something bad to happen.

You're attending a Buffalo sporting event, you'd think you'd be used to it by now.

If you're scoring at home that's two less teams than Philly that haven't gotten it done in 20+ years.

Buffalo played very well and deserved to win. I didn't see the third but they played an effective game, capitalizing on the Flyer awful penalty killing. I do like the fact that Buffalo has a legitimate scoring threat on every line - there's still questions about the defense and goaltending.

Should be interesting tomorrow night in Philadelphia - can Buffalo get the matchups it wants against Philadelphia's top line? The Umberger-Carter-Dimitrakos line hasn't done anything in 5 games and the Flyers will not win the series if that continues. Still, you guys haven't been able to contain that top line very well, and against Ottawa or New Jersey that spells death.

I don't think many people would dispute that they'd be underdogs vs. Ottawa or NJ - they are in most opinions the two best teams in hockey.

Still, you did list Philly along with the Rangers as one of the teams Buffalo wouldn't be able to beat in the playoffs, which was wrong.

When you look at the box score the Forsberg line has put up some nice looking stats but in watching the games it's pretty clear that they have actually been contained very well in 4 out of the 5 games with Game 4 being the exception; and Forsberg is the best player in the world.

This is the first time I've ever heard a Buffalo fan pronounce anything over before it actually was. You do know the series isn't finished, right?

Sorry, you can't claim you're stopping Peter Forsberg when he has 8 points in 5 games. It's not like he had 7 in one and 1 in another. He's had a point in every game in the series except Game 5. And he may be the best player in the world but both Ottawa and New Jersey have dynamic first lines as well. It's also unclear whether he's at 100% health or not - that's not an excuse, as everyone knows Forsberg is always hurt. Still, if Jason Spezza or Scott Gomez has 8 points in 5 games of the next series, Buffalo will be the team down 3-2 or possibly eliminated.

I'm shocked at how awful the Flyers' secondary scoring has been. Richards and Carter don't have a point in any of the five games. These two have to get on the board for the Flyers to be successful.

As I said stats do not tell the whole story. Any and all points in Game 2 were totally meaningless and to even imply otherwise is borderline libel. Game 3 they got some ridiculous bounces on two goals, which happens in hockey, whatever...I stand by the contention that the line has been good but in no way dominant outside of Game 4 and I think just about anyone who has watched the games would agree.
Also, you can't rip the Sabres for that line scoring and not give them credit for shutting down the other lines. It's pretty clear that you're a hater - no big deal.

You're claiming bounces and games being already decided to show Forsberg has been shut down? Bounces are a part of hockey - he has 8 points in 5 games, let's just remember that. Projected out to a full season, that's 144 points. Yeah, I guess they're shutting him down. I mean, come on - if it was 5 points you'd have an argument. However, they did an excellent job on him in Game 5.

I'll give credit to the Sabres for playing as they have, and if they win I'll give them credit too. Obviously no one is going to give them a chance in the next round - wrongfully so. Still, it will take a fantastic effort to beat whoever they play next round.

OMG can we please come up with more straw-man spin-doctoring arguments? You're pulling words like "shutdown" out of thin air in a desparate attmept to make whatever your point is look better.
You explicitly said he wasn't being "contained". I said he was in 3 of the games - which he was. No point in arguing if you look at the box scores and haven't watched the games. Yes, I do think points should be largely discounted in an 8-2 flogging that is 5-0 after 1 period ; I guess we'll have to agree to disagree there.
