maybe behind italy but are equal to Czech & holland and above UK & Germany

Barring injuries, UK is probably the strongest team in Europe right now, with the possible exception of Spain. Just look at the availible players. And you're overrating the Portugese so much it's not even funny.

[/ QUOTE ]

well, that may be a bit of a stretch on england, but they unquestionably have the best defense in europe right now(as long as ledley king can play). I'd really like someone to show me a better squad then having: Neville(and he's the weak link), Campbell, Terry, Carragher, Ashley Cole, and King(if he's healthy). England also have a great midfield. Any team that has lampard, beckham, gerrard, and joe cole in teh midfield(along with swp on the bench too) is a team that has a strong chance.

I can't believe that I forgot Rio too. See, that shows how deep England's defensive situation is

Do they have enough balls to go around? Do any of those guys know how to play defense?

ok, I guess I should have been more clear - will any of these guys play a defensive-minded midfield position?

Lampard - attacking midfielder
Gerrard - attacking midfielder
Beckham - attacking (passing) outside midfielder
Cole - attacking outside midfielder

gerrard has never been an outright attacking midfielder. He generally plays a little deep but also comes up a lot. Granted, he may not ever be a fully traditional defensive midfielder like a Keane, Viera, or going back to a Liverpool great, Souness, but to call him an attacking midfielder just isn't teh case at all
