Oh, by the way, if you want to know the source of his rejuvenation, lefties are batting .177 against him. Over his career, they've batting .275.

You point out his line of stats, which are quite, but the one thing you emphasise is his wins? In any team sport, 1 position getting credit for a "win" is completely stupid.

Don't look now (part 2):
Tonight Arroyo moves to 5 and 0 with a complete game 4 hit outing. On a sidenote, I saw Wilo Mo Pena fly out to center with the bases loaded in a 3 - 3 game in the bottom of the 7th tonight against the Yankees. He has 6 LOB tonight. Way to early to pass judgement on a trade but so far so good for Reds fans |

That stadium really isn't much of a bandbox. [/ QUOTE ] Are you kidding?? It's TINY! It's hard to hit anything in the air other than a pop-up that DOESN'T go out. They don't call it the Great American Small Park for nothing! The dimensions aren't that far off from a regular stadium, but it's how the fence is shaped. The arc from the foul pole to center on each side is more of a straight line than a big circle like you'd see at Turner Field. Sure it's 404 or whatever in dead center, but it basically comes to a point there...just to the left and right of dead center (and the rest of the way around) it plays much shorter. |

Over the first three years of play, GAB has actually been a pitcher's park. The Reds have scored more runs on the road than in the GAB, and the pitcher have given up more runs on the road than in the GAB.

I think I stated pre-season or the very beginning of the season that Arroyo would win at least 18 games this year. I might have to adjust that prediction up to 20...
The Reds are getting the better end of this trade. Arroyo is what, only 24 years old? And he's got nasty stuff and Reds fans are going to have something special. Any Red Sox fan will tell you that Arroyo's potential to break out was right at the surface. I wish the Red Sox waited just one more year. This was the most disturbing trade the Sox made this year to me IMO. Willie Mo may be a big dude but he hasn't showed any hustle and it's a adventure everytime the ball is hit in his direction. |

All right, let's go even money on 19 wins for Arroyo. I take under, 19's a push.
