Once you chose the check call check raise any two turn line (which is where the debate should be), the cap turn lead river is almost surely the right play, taking account newhizzle agression and all the draws out there. People thinking capping the turn is insane don't know much about limit.

wow, a lot of replies
anyway, FWIW, i dont think james even knew this was me when it happened or when he posted this, but i had A4dd, i think i played it horribly and i think i should have checked the turn and called a river bet or at least just called down his check/raise, i wouldnt have minded my play as much if i had like 97dd or something like that, but i was not playing well as i said as far as his play, i dont mind his check/raise because if i have something like QJ here, hes likely winning the pot with it, but i dont think the cap will be profitable in the long run because it is a lot of bets to invest to take down a small pot and i almost always have an overpair or something here anyway, yall need to [censored] lighten up, its BBV, and i got owned |

So u just basically replied that I am wrong so I feel compelled to respond.
I am stating that I don't think check call check raise should be usually preferred to check raise flop bet turn, I didn't say that you shouldn't make a play at the pot. Once the pot is 3bet, the pot is actually HUGE and not small, you don't always have high pairs as, as you stated, you would prolly play 79d that way, which might mean basically all draws with no showdown equity (did you see there were hearts too on the board),which adds up to a lot of hands, even if you don't always play those agressively. If you would 3 bet only str8flush draws (hmm, why?) then the cap is obviously wrong, but I doubt it. |

I do like a 3 bet with those middling diamond hands as you suggested, but hate it with a hand with showdown value for reasons you mentioned. I also didn't know it was you, as you mentioned. -James |

No, in BBV, they shouldn't comment on the quality of the play. That's for the other 100 forums. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah dude, but they don't need to analyze the hand. Just a quick "you suck at poker" will suffice. I don't want to hear the reasons. |

Either way, I agree a lot with your analysis, and it's exactly why I played it the way I did. Funny that a thread like this shows up with some real gold for those paying attention. -James |
