They had already taken over $165000 from his share of the prize pool. $165,000 seem plenty to me. How much more do they want?

[/ QUOTE ]

this wasn't in the prize pool. it was the entry fee. everyone paid it. or did the people that played down to 600 players without cashing not have to pay any, technically, because they didn't redeem part of the prize pool?

I don't buy this logic at all.

And I'd like to see how many man-hours the tourney staff spent working on the main event before I can determine whether or not the payout is even close to fair for working a week of 15 hour days.

If they didn't take this percentage then he would have gotten more than $7.5 million.

Then, by your criteria, it was not a $10,000 buy in.
It was $9400+$600.
Funny they don't advertise it that way.
And until a few years ago, it wasn't that way either.

Now, before you flame the Diceman, I understand that money was witheld for the staff, so a large tip may not be necessary. But $100 is just stupid.

[/ QUOTE ]

What if 5% was witheld? Then how much extra should he have tipped?

What if 10% was withheld?

What if 25% was withheld?

The guy tipped over $100,000. Anyone who thinks he is cheap is soft in the head.

Everyone who is upset that the guy didnt tip is so ignorant it's unbelievable. It's like going to a restaurant, having them charge you 17% for the service charge, you end up leaving an extra 3% to make it a round 20%, and then being called cheap for only tipping 3%.

Why is everyone so stupid?

[/ QUOTE ]

There is no place in this thread for logic and reason. Please refrain from using them in the future. Thank you.

Default Re: fyi: Raymer tipped $50,000 on his win.

Just posted that to give a point of reference.

Greg is the MAN..........but i wasn't trying to put the new champ down or build Greg up, only making a fairly valid point of reference.

For what it is worth I think you should either tip nothing, saying in effect "my tip was taken out already"

or tip and tip BIG.....like 50K to 150K and say thank you I am now very rich and I can tip like a mad man.

the new champ shouldn't be held to any standards but his own, and he seems like a decent guy.

cheers. J.Brown
