t's was used in England in the 15th-18th centuries to describe a fellow sailor or labourer. Many of those who came over here were Thieves, violent criminals were kept in England, and well, it just evolved into a term meaning "friend". The English got it the wrong way around anyway, I mean, look at the options...A beautiful country full of beaches, rainforests, massive supplies of natural resources, or England. They should have sent the law abiding citizens to Australia, and kept the crims in rainy old England
