When I lived in Maryland, Brad(my roommate at the time) and I were going fishing down at Point Lookout. Brad is from Southern Virginia near the N.C. Border and has a country accent.

We stop for some supplies at a small store and there is an older lady behind the counter, Brad walks up and says "I'd like some Ice", only the way Brad says Ice the "I" sounds more like "Ah" and the "ce" is pronounced "z". Brad wasn't a bad looking guy, this lady turns red in the face and says 'huh', he repeats and she says oh Ice oh ok.

A year later - we go back to the same spot, same lady - again he asked for Ice, she turns red and starts to laugh and calls over another lady and ask him to repeat it. They both giggle over this. She then asks Brad - you were in her last year weren't you? He's response "yeah can I have some Ice". A little irritated.

We walk out and I'm laughing, and he's pissed, he's like what's so damn funny with the way I say Ice.

I tell him - it kind of sounds like you're asking them for Ass.
