My College Essay...

so this is some sort of essay that you are writing to gain admission to college? i assume that this is in addition to your marks.

we don't have that system here in australia (it is purely a marks based affair except in a very small number of courses which involve interviews and the like), so i imagine that the people judging admissions looking for the following things:

a) confirmation that you're not a whacko
b) confirmation that you are coherent
c) confirmation that you can think well
d) confirmation that you'll succeed at college - ie, self-discipline

if it is like Australia, they have hundreds of applicants who are being judged, and they just don't care enough about the individuals to read the stuff in depth.

i imagine then that you'd write something that does this.


highlighting your affection gambling seems to not advance any of these goals.


(of course, i may have misunderstood the context of all this, so blame my ignorance if i did)
