This is the killer, because it is the single thing stopping you from taking the approach that you need to.

Either decide that the above is too important and you're giving it a miss, or put it on the line and go for it the way I described.

I personally think you still have a chance to touch pink bits with this girl. I don't think this would necessarily lead to a "relationship", nor do I think it would ruin your friendship with her.
