Last train for Buler

Posted by Robin Eggar @ 6:49 pm

So close but it was a hand too far for railway conductor Scott Buler who placed third and took home a cool half million. He has no idea what he’s going to spend it on. This is the fourth time that Scott has placed in the money at the PPM and the second time he’s made it to the final table.

“my confidence is high and I play good . I like to use my head and this is the place for me.

Scott 49 is particularly impressed with the caliber of the young playe son the poker circuit. “I played in the first event there were maybe 20 kides under 30 in the hwolek field. Today there are dozens of young players, don’t fool yourself they can play you can see guys like Mike Schneider and Devon Miller winning tournaments all over the country.

Scott’s fortune took a turn for the worst with two crucial hands. The first was against Kenna. “I had him right where I wanted him. I had two deuces and he needed to catch a king or a 9. He caught a 9 on the turn.”

A few hands later “I called a raise from Mike. We both had three jacks but he had the higher kicker. That was $700,000 right there.”

Scott has been playing the entire tournament with his leg in a cast. “I got a stress fracture of the foot six weeks ago.” Does it affect his play? “No it helps my poker.”

Scott bought his way in this year “because I couldn’t win a qualifier. I’ll be back next year for sure I do good in this tournament. . It would be very foolish not to show up.”
