Dids, there are definitely scenes where they drop the pretense of the mockumentary, but usually it's done for significant storytelling purposes that really move the plot along. Even during those scenes though, they do a good job of shooting as though the cameraman was hiding behind a car shooting through a window, hiding in a different room, etc. and it keeps up that illusion. I don't know, this episode did not do that for me at all. There was one instance where the camera trails Pam after leaving work, and even then it seemed forced, contrived, and oddly paparazzi voyeuristic. I don't know, I could be batshit crazy.

You're not crazy. Personally I just try to ignore all that stuff. So far it's been working for me.
