What movie scared you the most as a kid?

Blarg, the knives are metaphorical. Out of love for a human, the mermaid chooses to give up her mermaidness and become a human woman. Among the prices she pays is that every step she takes with her new feet is like walking on knives. This is the famous mermaid whose statue graces the harbor in Copenhagen. Disney of course made a film of the story which I haven't seen, but I seriously doubt that it has much to do with Andersen's story.
