Re: SSNL POKER [cheese] thread AUG PT 2
More of my $400 journey.
Today's session was something odd. One of my first hands at a table I break my own rule and play a big pot without a read. Stack off with top pair on a very wet board where the average player's range is going to be massive. Turns out my villain was a nit, not just a nit but one of the nittiest [censored] pricks I've seen. Something like 11/6. My hand is no good obviously. Will never play a bit pot without a read again.
That was unfortunate. What was fortunate was that he decided to keep playing me heads up on another table once it broke. Was a slow enjoyable grind as he continued to play damn near 11/6 heads up and slowly spewed it all back to me. Was interrupted by some guy that refused to leave and obviously wanted to exploit him for himself. Thought it was rude. Not like I was exploiting a fish or anything, just a [censored] regular - there's easier money to be made, but it felt good taking my money back from him after I initially and incorrectly gave him credit for actually being capable of playing poker.
Ended up in the green for a small amount, but learned alot about table control tonight and exploiting nits. Fun and educational session.
