The Mike Vick case... am I a life nit?

I don't think there is, for a naturally carnivorous species. If we were all able to afford or readily find whatever cruelty free food is, it would be one thing, or if we were all growing our own food so we could make choices. But I can't recall ever seeing "cruelty free" meat in a grocery store and I bet most Americans haven't either. It's not a realistic option at this point, for most of us.

When it becomes a realistic option, then we can talk about it. And that will have to include economics, too. So there might never be a discussion.
