[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] People have become over-exposed and desensitized to houman violence. Its the same reasom the saddest scene in a movie is if the dog dies versus if a human dies. [/ QUOTE ] Great point. Additionally I believe that if we actually went out and hunted for meat instead of just buying it people would have a different perspective on this. We are very insulated as a people from what animals do to each other in the wild, and to those of us who eat meat we indirectly do to them as well. Of course what he did was awful but raping or abusing a woman is much much worse. [/ QUOTE ] NO. Animals in the wild fight each other for survival. They don't harm each other to get their kicks. In the same vein, we eat meat for survival, and hunting for survival is o.k.. What is not o.k. is getting pleasure from harming animals or watching animals harm each other. That is morally wrong, and worse than alot of human on human acts. |
