Yes, depending on who you ask, condoms are effective against pregnancy 90 to 99% of the time, the most common number is a rate of 97% effective.

Pretty sure that number is 97% effective during the course of a year of normal use. I'm not sure what a year of normal use but say its once a week. That would be 97% effective after 50 times of [censored]. 300 chicks would give you something like 6 years of use or an 18% chance of knocking someone up over that run.

Ive never heard "during the course of a year of normal use". I thought they figured the odds just by failure rate, ie take 100 condoms, 3 will fail, no matter when your how often you use them. and this is also assuming 1. you use a condom everytime (and c'mon, 300 chicks? we all make mistakes), and 2. you use the condom correctly everytime.

do you have any idea what they are saying is normal use over a year? it seems that makes a huge difference, and I cant find anywhere that has that statistic. If normal use is once every 2 weeks, thats [censored], if its wtice a week, there is still a real chance you are going to be dealing with more than one pregnant chick over the course of 300

Yeah what the hell. I want to know the probability that the condom won't be effective on any given use. As in, out of 100 condoms, how many break/fail/whatever.
