Very very begginner

Hello everyone,
I'm brand new to playing poker at the casino last weekend was actually my first time ever playing poker at the casino and it was a 3/6 table of holdem. I really didnt get any "good" hands or so I thought other than 2 8's and 2 A's other than that I rarely got a good hand but then again I'm not exactly sure what a good hand is. A few times I would get 34 unsuited or 68 suited should I have played these hands or at least looked at the flop? Please help me out with what hands are good to play or at least look at the flop with.
