this year's top 10 payrolls are
Yankees $195MM Red Sox $143MM Mets $117MM White Sox $109MM Angels $109MM Dodgers $108MM Mariners $106MM Cubs $99MM Tigers $95MM Orioles $95MM the Red Sox spending is up this year because they have a couple of high priced veterans and are going for it now (TM), they will probably be back to their norm of 110-120 within the next year or two. unless they sign slappy of course. any of the major market teams could probably afford to have a year or two like the sox are having now if they were making some deep runs in the playoffs and combined it with some savvy marketing, etc. i'm not an expert on this though |
