[ QUOTE ]
I'm new to this...but no way I'm just calling the river. if he has T8 so be it...and you can certainly get value from a raise on the river...it's hard for him to call a raise on the river with a 1 card straight out there...but what about your line would make him think you are likely to have an 8 here anyway? a raise is definitely worth it IMO [/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure why you want to turn your hand into a bluff by raising. Like you pointed out, it is hard to call a raise w/ a 1 card straight out there, which means he will fold a lot of hands to our raise that we have beat if we call anyway. I'd put villain on an 8 or a slowplayed KK or a rivered 99 with the donkbet he made. There are 8 T8 combos left and 3 combos of KK and 99 each. If you think he will call your raise with any set then it rises to 15 set combos vs 8 combos of T8. Vs an unknown, I'd just call as I think he has T8 more than a set. (I don't think he slowplays 66 to the river like this). Vs a player known to stack off terrible hands on coordinated boards (I'd need that exact note), then I raise for sure. Also, we are losing an extra $13 when villain has the nuts; he can just call our raise when he is beat. Perhaps we should just pushed the river AI if we are going to raise. |
