Following the shocking deaths of Chris, Nancy and Daniel Benoit (discussed here), I was wondering about this with poker pros.
Chris Benoit, at least up until Monday in the wrestling world, was always pretty much an "untouchable" when it came to criticism. Even if he was put in a dumb angle or had a bad promo or subpar match, fans always forgave him because he was that good in the ring. Only now are people (rightfully) truly turning on him for the atrocity he committed. What poker pros always seem to be forgiven, either here or in other mainstream areas regardless of what they do/say/how they play/etc.? One that comes to mind is Barry Greenstein. Chris Ferguson is probably another. Keep in mind I'm not saying "which poker pro is likely to commit double murder", I'm making a comparison. Which pros are almost always forgiven regardless of what they do and say or how they play? Mods, please move this if it doesn't belong here. I really didn't know where to post this one. |
