Bad beat stories. I'm actually kind of inured to them. They're just part of a poker player's vocabulary: " Hey, you still in?" "Naw, I had KK raised pf got called by a guy with J-9 off. We ended up all in when I had a set and he had nothing and he runner runnered a straight on me." "oh, tough one..."
Or, "What happened to your big stack?" "Well [insert generic bad beat story of your choice]". Its how poker players make small talk to each other. But this week in our cash game, it just went on, and on, and on. I mean, c'mon tell your one or two or four most recent/spectacular/devastating bad beat stories and move on already!!!! Do we really have to keep trotting them out for six friggin hours? Oh, and to the womman next to me, yes that was a sucky bad beat that made you finish third in that tourney...but you had five top six tournament finishes last night and made $3,500 dollars? Why the f()ck are you telling me a bad beat story from that session? Ah well. I think it was just the last hour of bad beat stories that fried my brain. Five hours of em, I can take. Six hours is just too many. --Zetack |
