FLORIDA ALLOWING POKER GAME STAKES TO BE RAISED IN JULY!

The poker allowed in Florida, and this shouldn’t surprise anyone, is low stakes poker. The spirit of the law ( 752 ) is to increase the limits of poker in Florida while still keeping it low limit. The state regulatory body will most likely create the rules with that low limit bias in mind.

The Seminoles and Miccouskees, through their own gaming commissions, may interpret the law in a way that they will offer mid- to high-stakes games but the state pari-mutuels probably won’t be allowed to offer mid- or high-stakes NL or any limit games with a max bet above $5.

I would like to see higher stakes games offered but I don’t think high stakes is what the Florida Senate and House meant to imply or allow with 752.
