Default Straights and Flushes in Limit Hold \'em

I have a question about drawing straights and flushes at micro-limit games. I know it happens a lot, and my only downfall so far has been so much money spent when I have a suited Ax or Kx, and I flop two of the same suit. Probably 5 out of 8 times, I that suit doesn't land on the river, and I've lost about 5 - 7BB. Again, with the straight, I'll have J10, and the 9, 8, 2 will land on the flop. How long should I draw this hand out in the hopes of getting the straight in limit? Should I just rely on pot odds (though I almost always have the pot odds to call, because there are always so many loose-passive players who call initially), or is there a better way? Thanks, and take care.
