my wtsd is usually 20 or less, i think the swings are a result of preflop shenanigans.

There's a lot of different reasons you can be swingy, tilt, aggro play, lots of preflop 3bets & 4bets, etc. People who are very unswingy are definitely passing up some +EV opportunities. If you are maximizing profit you will be taking some thin (but +EV) gambles in big pots, either shoving thin bluffs or making big thin calls.

(basically people who are unswingy are wusses)
