Theoreticaly If you were in a casino with 1000$ how would you play it

I was having a discussion with my friend the other day on the situation, if you had 1000$ which held no value to you meaning it was just play money if you lost it wouldnt hurt your bills or anything. How would you most efficiently play it in a casino to try to double it "safely". Meaning not putting it on a 48% 1 to 1 bet or something but maybe chipping away slowly and trying to build it up. Is this possible? Of course theres always the risk of ruin which game would you choose?

Poker is an option, and although it seems to be possibly the best option assuming youre a good player there is also bad beats and occasional bad reads to account for. But basicly what would offer the most play for the least risk, it wouldnt be much fun just making a few bets and being done
