Summer fashion for adult guys doesn't really vary that much.
About avoiding shorts, I generally take this approach as I think pants/jeans do look better. But I'm not going to look any better wearing hot clothes that have me sweating up a storm, so I make sure I have some shorts that work with my shirts. T-shirts will never go out. Collared shirts of the polo variety as still fine. Button-down shirts are always a safe bet. If you want something nice or trendy to wear out at night, then you're going to be working harder to find something that looks good on you. Again, button-down long-sleeve shirts are usually a safe bet. It depends more on where you're going out, and the crowd there. It never hurts to drop by the bookstore and browse the men's fashion magazines (GQ, Details, etc.) and look for ideas that way. Sometimes you can just be conservative with jeans and a button-down shirt and then wear some trendy accessory like a ridiculous belt. Trendier [censored] tends to require you to put in the effort of trying on lots of stuff, unless you're so hot that everything looks good on you. With sandals, I want to try to find something new in this area myself, something that looks a little more sophisticated. I also need new shoes. I'm pretty clueless about shoes in general. |
