BB and SB play, need help please

I play no limit, mainly .25 .50 and .50 1.00. Lately i've been having tough decions in playing out of the blinds. I'll have a hand like 5 8 off and the flop will come 4 6 8 rainbow. There will be 2 or 3 other limpers in the pot. When I do bet in this situation, I usually get 1 or 2 callers. Since i am first to act every time I'm not sure how to play these hands and I usually wind up checking it down or folding, because i'm not sure the right way to play hands like these. Any suggestions would be greatly apprecciated. TY
