It's hard for me to believe Ellix got his hands on $1200. I saw him at the Bike maybe 3 weeks ago, drunk as a skunk, and he asked me to give him $20. He told me he had 3 stake horses who had all made it into the money at a tournament that was still going on but was just waiting for the tournament to end so he could collect his cuts from all of them. I heard a few days later that the poker school he taught for/lived at in the valley and he had parted ways abruptly with no explanation given. This leads me to believe that the $1200 you saw him drop may not have been his to lose. The last I heard he was going to Reno to live until the start of the WSOP, then he'd be in Vegas trying to hustle up some buy-ins.
