it sucks to play for 10 hours a day. your back really starts hurting, and your neck. you don't really meet people who can form friendships with either at work.
it's not as great as you may imagine, and the money isn't that great as well. probably no better than another job. an excellent player could make a good $20 to $40 an hour in the middle limits, but if you work in any kind of job and devote the same work into it as it takes to become a poker expert, you'll probably end up making at least $30/hr eventually, plus benefits. it's playing poker... for a living. not for fun, but for groceries, for rent, for everything. it would be cool to be like doyle brunson and cash in million dollar days and such, that would be a rush. but the average professional is just a cardplayer. good luck. |
