This would be much worse for the Sox than what happened to the Yanks IMHO. Schilling / Beckett / Wake projects to be better than Moose/Wang/Pavano and Ramirez is much more important to the Sox than Matsui to the Yanks. Drew is projected to outperform Damon as well. Tek is worse than Posada.

The two teams are built very differently, and the dropoff the Sox would experience in VORP would probably be a good bit bigger. Also the Sox don't have as strong of a lineup as the Yanks so losing their #2 and #3 producers would hurt more. (and anyway for the yanks, they lost like their fifth and sixth best bats, right? i mean abreu, jeter, a-rod and giambi are all more productive than damon/matsui).
