Just got back from the local B&M. Put in a 6 hour session in the 15-30 game. About halfway through good ol' Ellix Powers shows up and takes a seat. Immediately the game got interesting. He buys in for a rack and proceeds to dust that off pretty quickly. By his second rack he has changed 3 different seats. I guess it is the luck of the seat to him because it certainly wasn't for a positional advantage. If anything his position relative to the laggys got worse.
By the time it was all over he had dropped $1200. Mind you this is a 15-30 game. And this wasn't 5 people seeing a 3-bet flop. I was to his left so I felt responsible for taking some of it. For the night I ended up a nice $815. Here is one interesting hand played. Not sure if my action on the river was correct: Hero limps utg with 88. MP calls LP calls SB (Ellix) raises BB calls Hero calls MP calls LP calls. 5 to the flop. Flop is 532 rainbow. SB (Ellix) bets BB folds Hero raises MP calls LP folds SB calls. Turn 2 SB checks Hero bets MP calls SB calls River 4 No flush possible. SB checks (He is pissed about that card. Hems and haws a bit but then checks) Hero chccks (I hated that card. I could see either guy having a 6 or A) MP goes all in (He just came from 1-2NL so we informed him he could only bet $30. He had about $60. SB calls (Ellix says he was going to call because he knew he had the best hand) So I think I am dead here and fold. SB has J5o MP has K4o I miss out on a decent pot. Just not sure if I made the right play. Forget being results oriented. www.tractionpoker.blogspot.com |
