regarding the definition of "assault rifle"- Marine Corps standard issue M16A2s do not have an automatic option, only semi-auto and 3 shot burst, which is the same for all M16A2s. Only certain M4A1 Commandos,etc have that auto option as far as I'm aware. The AR-15 is chambered for 5.56 M855 ball ammo (at least that's the most common ammunition i've seen) too, just like all the "real" assault rifles"
