Default Monte Carlo Hand 1

I'd love some feedback on 2 hands I played in The EPT event. They were both included in my trip report, but I'd like to present them for discussion here.

THe first hand involved Bjorn-Erik Glenne, who won the Barcelona EPT event this year in a heads up duel with Phil Ivey, and a young Italian player. When the hand happened, blinds were 150/300, GLenne had around 24K, the Italian had just over 30K and I had just over 40K. As far as history is concerned,GLenne came to the table with 75K but lost a big chunk to Chad Brown, and has been moving backwards ever since. He has open-raised a lot, and c-bet 100% of the time. I recently smooth called him pre-flop (with AK) then raised his flop bet on a 422 board and he folded. The Italian also just lost a pot to me when I smooth called him with QQ, called his flop bet, then bet the turn and river where he called me on each street. It turned out to be a 22K pot. THe only other hand I've showed down was 88 where I called behind 2 others then called a raise from the blinds. Heads up I called his flop bet on a T73 flop, we checked the turn (2) and then I called his river bet when a 2nd 3 came. He had A7 and I won.

So now the hand in question. Glenne raises in EP to 800. The Italian calls and I call too from the CO with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Everyone else folds.

Flop 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Glenne bets 2K and the Italian raises to 6K.

I took a long time to decide. My real decision is whether to just call and try and trap Glenne in the pot. I presume he is drawing nearly dead. THe Italian could be as strong as a set, as weak as JJ, or as speculative as 44.

I believe a raise will get both to lay down any 1 pair hands without a draw to go with it.

Based on this what do you think the best plan is?
