Well, I grew up in the late '80s, when the music was so lame we had to look back one generation to find good music. I got introduced to blues-rock, followed that back to genuine blues.
I foolishly thought that, as a blues fan, I wasn't "supposed" to like country.
Then, at about 30, I heard Johnny Cash. Simply blew me away. I did not know that there was another person on the face of the earth so [censored] in the head! I can't believe I spent the first 30 years of my existance unaware of such beauty!
Plus, two of my favorite Neil Young songs are "Harvest" and "The Losing End," and you can't say those are anything but country...
