River: ($60) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets $12, UTG+1 raises to $24, Hero raises to $52, UTG+1 calls $28. Final Pot: $164 My table image is pretty close to super-rock. I have been here for over an hour and I tend to take down pots with no showdown. Generally, players tending to overlimp, and signify strong draws or PP with standard 3xBB bets. It's working against me a little on my big hands because most bets from me are usually met with a fast fold, but when I miss or hit light, it's comforting to be able to drive off people. So.... Pre-flop, I'm limping for set value. I plan to bail if I don't hit my 7 unless the flop is full of garbage or something like 568r. On the flop, I figure a bet might look like either an A or on the draw for the flush. I don't want 4 guys in the pot here because there's enough possibilities with straight and flush out there. I get the one caller I think I want. On the turn, I figure checking sets up a river bet. I'm not too afraid of AT or TT here... I figure either gets a bigger bet pre-flop. A bet here is going to take the pot down, I'm nearly certain, but I think I can get more, especially if he's on a flush draw. River, I'm feigning a busted flush draw with a small bet. He min-raises, which looks like the 8 helped him, but I don't think he's sitting 88 because he'd have likely raised preflop rather than called. I want to bet something, but not so much that he won't call. I don't know why I chose exactly $28 as the ultimate raise... I just hit the slider a few times. Villain had Ac8c, and MHIG. I think my play is okay here, but I wonder about the turn and how to come up with a better feel for how much to go on the river. |
