Boss punched my timecard out, WTF?

I didnt read the entire post, but Ill make a few assumptions.

1. you dont work in California
2. your boss(HP) probably got his ass chewed, based on the fact you said he was upset when you told him.
3. Your ability to play may be restricted.

If I m paying someones salary and allow them to play and teach on the clock(not sure exactly what your situation and contract allows you) then I am not paying you overtime and 1/2 of your taxes for said overtime if you are working 60 hours a week playing 4-5 rounds per week(I know this is higher than you say, but look at it from a HR point). You should ALWAYS take it up with your boss, the GM at our facility is also the type that needs to see everything that is going on. The problem that you opened in you situation is that by jumping your boss and taking it up with the GM is that you say you dont think your boss can handle it and you dont trust him to handle it. If your boss were to leave because of this(not saying this is something that will send him packing, but you never know) is that your GM will be hiring the new HP, he is going to find someone like him(do you really want 2 of them there?)
