Default To all the new 6-max players

Hi all,

It seems a lot of players from the SS started playing 6-max lately. Sfer, Saborion, Trix, Joker122 and Alobar are a few examples. It seems we all have the same kind of questions and problems when we try to adjust to this game.

Like the regulars know, I made a few posts a couple of weeks ago with a bazillion questions and hands. Some were easy to answer, some were not. Because I went throught the same process about 2 months ago, I thought it would be a good idea to make a post about these kind of questions.

Here are some links from posts I made, maybe they show the same kind of problems you have at the moment: this and this one.

I also had a bazilion questions about blind stealing and playing in the blinds. I knew that in full ring games this was/is one of my biggest leaks. I was/am terrible in defending, stealing goes a lot better now. Anyway here's a post I made at the time.

I knew that I needed to lower my raising standards, but how low? I knew pairs and high cards go up in value, but how much? Here's a post I made about starting hands.

Maybe these two threads from David Ross will also help you with your starting hands: this and this one.

Don't forget the swing are huge. I dropped a 150BB in the first 2 weeks or so. Sometimes you lose 100BB in just 2 hours and a day later you win it all back in just 3 hours. It's part of the game and you better get used to it although it sucks.

I hope this helps... If you know any good threads feel free to add them.

Just read a lot, play a lot and post a lot and you will all do fine.

Good luck,

Guido
