Listen, I don't think this was a hustle, I think that Vig had the right intentions but saw all that money in his account and couldn't help but take a shot with it. Obv he doomswitches/was never good in the first place and loses some, then has to try and win it back, all the while explaining to Ms. Vig how he's having withdrawl problems with all the legislation. A month or two later, Ms. Vig comes back here to complain and let us know that Vig never cashed it out.
I don't think that Vig went into this as a scam, he just lost some and got caught in the classic "gotta win it back" spiral. Obviously the Ms. Vig account is really her, otherwise she never would have brought it up. So, why would he scam us the whole time then out himself? If anything, Ms. Vig would have come on to ask for more money for additional treatment.
Good intentions, Greed got in the way, Vig is a [censored] and a horrible person for gambling with someone else's money.
